I was recently joined on the Iron Range by elected leaders and local labor leaders to stand united against Walz’s radical Executive Order. Our message was clear: we will not stand by while good-paying jobs, economic opportunities, and our way of life are put at risk.

Thankfully, this fight is far from over. In the coming months, Minnesota will have a new governor with the opportunity to reverse this disastrous order. Speaker Demuth has already committed to do so if elected, and I encourage Senator Klobuchar to make the same public commitment.

Until then, we will continue to speak up, stand together, and make sure the voices of the Iron Range are heard loud and clear.

Week in Review

I spent the majority of August traveling around Minnesota, meeting with constituents and small business owners to hear more about what’s most important to them. I also had the opportunity to travel to Alaska with the Western Caucus to learn more about the natural resources our nation is blessed with. Here are a few highlights below:

I stopped by the City of Harris to celebrate the $1.37 million in Community Project Funding I secured for the City’s Municipal Water System. This investment will deliver real results for residents and businesses, such as fewer outages, improved water quality, and better water pressure for fire protection. I will always fight to bring federal dollars home to Minnesota!

I met with the fantastic team at Stepp Manufacturing in North Branch to learn more about their work to build road-maintenance equipment that helps communities across the nation and world improve their roads. It’s great to see a local business make a global impact!

I had a great meeting with constituents from Breakthrough T1D at my Forest Lake office to discuss the everyday challenges faced by people living with Type 1 Diabetes and their families. In Congress, I’m proud to serve in the Congressional Diabetes Caucus and advocate for practical solutions that improve care, affordability, and outcomes for the T1D community.

Thank you to Itasca County Commissioner John Johnson for taking the time to meet with me to discuss the County’s needs and how the federal government can better support the community.

I attended the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce Board meeting to provide a federal update and discuss the work I am doing in Washington to deliver results for Minnesota’s Eighth District. I spoke about the Working Families Tax Cuts law, which significantly lowered taxes for families and small businesses, as well as the 21^st Century ROAD to Housing law, which I supported to make the American Dream of home ownership more attainable for young families.

I joined Representative Celeste Maloy, Chairwoman of the Congressional Western Caucus, and a number of my colleagues for site visits across Alaska to highlight our country’s vast natural resource potential. This includes the West Susitna Mineral District, where we saw firsthand the opportunity to responsibly mine the antimony and gold that is critical for our national defense, AI chips, and medical equipment.

While in Alaska, I had the chance to meet with several state and local leaders, including my good friend, Governor Mike Dunleavy. I’ve always enjoyed working closely with the Governor to unleash American energy and strengthen our nation’s mineral dominance.
