Minneapolis Must Cooperate with ICE Dear Friend, Immediately after swearing the oath of office, President Trump enacted a number of Executive Orders that put the safety of the American people first. And these policies have already been incredibly successful. Not only have border crossings dropped by 90%, but we have seen U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) remove the worst of the worst from our communities. For example, in St. Paul, ICE agents recently arrested 3 child sex predators in an immigration roundup. Sadly, there are still radical elected leaders across the country who have vowed to undermine these efforts to keep Americans safe. To no one’s surprise, the Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, has stated that the city’s police officers will not cooperate with federal law enforcement to uphold our nation’s immigration laws. ICE has made it clear that it is targeting public safety threats, such as these 3 child sex predators and the al-Shabaab terrorist that was apprehended in the city last year. Mayor Frey’s decision not to cooperate with ICE puts Minneapolis residents in danger, and those of us at the federal level are paying close attention. This week, the Minnesota Republican delegation sent a letter to Mayor Frey addressing our concerns. Read the full letter HERE.We urge Mayor Frey to do the right thing because the Trump administration is not playing around, and Attorney General Pam Bondi has already stated that she will hold states accountable for violating federal immigration law. DOGE is WorkingThis week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced it had discovered that FEMA had sent $59 million last week to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal immigrants. This money was funding the Roosevelt Hotel, which served as a meeting ground for Tren de Aragua and was used to house Laken Riley’s killer. This is an egregious abuse of taxpayer money that was intended for American disaster relief. Luckily, because DOGE had uncovered this abuse, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was able to claw back these funds that activists within FEMA unilaterally gave to hotels holding illegal immigrants. And last week, we learned about the egregious amount of abuse going on within USAID. Under the appearance of ‘foreign aid,” USAID has largely been used as a front for the far-left agenda. Here are a few examples of the USAID abuse that’s been uncovered: $20 million for a new Sesame Street show in Iraq.$6 million for tourism in Egypt.$25 million for Deloitte to promote ‘green transportation’ in the country of Georgia.$7.9 million to teach Sri Lanken journalists how to avoid ‘binary gendered language.”And this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have heard a lot of hysteria from some of my colleagues on the left because they know the grift is over. DOGE is going to be looking at all agencies, and I welcome this because the American taxpayer deserves to know that their money is being spent wisely. That’s why I recently joined the DOGE Caucus in the House.

Minneapolis Must Cooperate with ICE

Dear Friend,

Immediately after swearing the oath of office, President Trump enacted a number of Executive Orders that put the safety of the American people first.

Read the full letter HERE.

We urge Mayor Frey to do the right thing because the Trump administration is not playing around, and Attorney General Pam Bondi has already stated that she will hold states accountable for violating federal immigration law.

DOGE is Working

This week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced it had discovered that FEMA had sent $59 million last week to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal immigrants.

Here are a few examples of the USAID abuse that’s been uncovered:

  • $20 million for a new Sesame Street show in Iraq.
  • $6 million for tourism in Egypt.
  • $25 million for Deloitte to promote ‘green transportation’ in the country of Georgia.
  • $7.9 million to teach Sri Lanken journalists how to avoid ‘binary gendered language.”

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

This week, I joined John Solomon with Real America’s Voice to discuss the benefits of DOGE. Listen HERE.

Votes of the Week

As per usual, we had another busy week of votes here in Washington, D.C. Here are the two votes that stood out the most.

votes

First, we voted to pass the Midnight Rules Relief Act, legislation that will allow Congress to efficiently review last minute rules implemented by the Biden-Harris administration. This legislation is important because the Biden administration imposed over 1,400 unnecessary and harmful rules on American businesses, workers, and families.

We also passed the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, legislation that will impose criminal penalties and force deportation if an illegal immigrant is found guilty of evading law enforcement conducting border security operations. This legislation is a critical step in delivering on our promise to secure the border and protect our communities.

Stay tuned to learn what we are voting on in the House next!
